"The Doctor of Ministry program at Emmanuel has been a great blessing to me. I have learned much from the classes. They have all been of great help to my ministry in New York and now in Minnesota. I know that if you take the time to go through this program you will improve your local ministry. I recommend this program with all my heart."
~Claudio Divino, DMin 2005
The practice of Christian ministry is an increasingly complex and demanding task. Although the standard pre-ministerial educational program (MDiv) already includes substantial credit hours beyond the baccalaureate, many ministers express a desire for a disciplined program of continuing education that will enable them to integrate their practical learnings in ministry with additional advanced-level course work. The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree has been developed to meet these needs. The 36 hour Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree meets that desire with offerings that accommodate your schedule.
The men and women who teach at Emmanuel are experts in their fields. All full-time faculty members and the majority of adjunct professors hold doctoral degrees, and every faculty member at Emmanuel has served in church or para-church ministry. They are concerned about how the information you are learning will help you more effectively teach and lead the people in your ministry through your own preaching, teaching, and serving.
In addition to the benefits of deeper study, you will enjoy the support group of people serving in ministry. Learning in the classroom, worshiping in chapel, and enjoying informal occasions with students and faculty will be part of the DMin experiences. Faculty and staff are accessible and inviting, offering guidance and encouragement each step of the way.
